How long do I have?
In most car accident injury cases, Illinois gives you 2 years from the crash to file a lawsuit. Some claims, like ones against a city or state agency, have much shorter deadlines. Ask a lawyer to confirm yours.
Start with attorneys who handle car accident cases every day, then read what past clients say about how they were kept informed. A good fit answers your questions plainly and does not promise a number.
Look for experience with cases like yours, clear answers about fees, and reviews that mention communication. Many attorneys offer a free first consultation, so you can compare more than one.
Most car accident attorneys in Oak Brook work on contingency: no fee unless they recover money for you. The percentage is agreed in writing before you sign.
